Insurance companies are however not under obligation to offer every of these 10 types of Medigap plans. It is however compulsory for any insurance company, offering Medigap policies to offer at least the Plan A. Plan C or Plan F must also be offered by the insurance company if they want to provide any of the other medicare supplement policy.
The different Medigap plans, represented by different alphabets offer some level of medical supplement coverage. Each of the type of plan however offered standard benefits across all insurance companies. This implies that every insurance company in any of the 47 states, that offers a particular medigap alphabet plan, must cover exactly the same services. The 3 Unites States of America states that do not offer the same medigap plans with others include Wisconsin, Minnesota and Massachusetts.
